MISSION STATEMENT

Latinos for Peace is organized to put an end to the War in Iraq and bring American troops home immediately.

ACTION STATEMENT

By gathering signatures of Americans against the war, lobbying Congressional, state and municipal elected officials, and participating in anti-war activities, we, as a non-profit organization, hope to focus public attention on the very high cost in lives and money that communities throughout the United States and Puerto Rico pay for this war. Valuable resources that should go toward educating Latino and other youth and empowering our communities with desperately needed health, economic, educational and social programs instead are squandered on a war that targets Latino, African American and other poor youth for recruitment into the military. Until the Administration ends the war and returns our troops home, it cannot meet its obligation to secure social justice and economic opportunity for all in the United States.

We join with the Congressional Out of Iraq Caucus, the AFL-CIO, United for Peace and Justice, the Mexican American Political Association (MAPA) and many others calling for US Out of Iraq!
